How to transfer files between an internal hard drive to and an external hard drive?

Is it possible to transfer game data, like the Sims 3 and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, from internal to external. If that is possible how can I do that? I have windows 7, so if you could tell me in terms of that, it would be great.
