Can I get food stamps as an independent college student?

I am legally a dependent of my parents and have them down as my permanent address but I don't live with them even when school is not in session. I live on campus during the school year, and I'm on my own undisclosed reasons. I do work study during the school, receive maximum aid, and i'm currently taking online summer courses (idk if this helps). If I am spending most of my time doing school and live on campus 10 months out of the 12, would i be eligible? ....I also don't know if my parents have those benefits either and i would certainly would not want a call from them if it affects them some how...bottom line is can a 18 year old-broke ***-college student-whose legally a dependent-but in reality got screwed by her makers-and legally doesnt live with them for 10/12 months of the year apply for their own food stamp card?
